Booking Terms & Conditions
Room Bookings
These Terms & Conditions (“the Terms”) apply to all reservations and stays at The Candover - Public House with Rooms, operated and managed by Candover Op Co (“the Company”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By making a reservation, you (“the Guest”) agree to be bound by these Terms.
1) Making a booking
By booking, you confirm you’re authorised to do so for all guests named and that your party agrees to these Terms. A contract forms when we send your booking confirmation by email. Please check it carefully and tell us within 24 hours if any details are incorrect.
2) Rates, taxes & payment
Prices are per room, per night, and include/exclude VAT as shown online. A valid payment card is required; deposits, pre-authorisations or prepayment may apply as displayed at checkout. Extras (e.g., meals, drinks, telephone, travel) are not included unless stated and must be settled before departure.
3) Cancellation policy (rate-specific)
The cancellation terms that apply to your booking are the ones shown with-and attached to-the rate you select at the time of booking. Those terms form part of your contract and are repeated in your confirmation. Any charges for cancellations, amendments, no-shows, and late arrival will follow the rate-specific policy. If we don’t hear from you and you arrive more than 6 hours after your stated arrival time, your room may be released for re-sale under your rate’s policy.
4) Amendments
Changes (dates, guest numbers, room type) are subject to availability and at management’s discretion. If a change cannot be accommodated, the original rate’s cancellation terms apply.
5) Check-in / check-out
Check-in from 3:00pm. Check-out by 11:00am. Early check-in/late check-out may be available and may incur a fee.
6) Conduct, damage & smoking
Please respect staff, guests, neighbours and the property. We may end a stay without refund for serious disturbance or policy breaches. You are liable for damage, missing items or excessive cleaning; a minimum £250 charge may apply for non-accidental damage. No smoking or vaping indoors (designated outdoor areas available).
7) Children & pets
Children are welcome in suitable rooms (family bunks up to age 12). Dogs may be accepted in designated rooms/areas by prior arrangement; fees/house rules may apply.
8) Accessibility & special requests
Please contact us in advance about accessibility needs or special requests. All requests are subject to availability and not guaranteed unless confirmed in writing.
9) Changes by us / force majeure
If we must significantly change or cancel your stay, we’ll notify you as soon as possible and offer a suitable alternative (e.g., new dates or credit). We are not liable for events beyond our reasonable control (e.g., severe weather, utility failure, public-health measures).
10) Liability & belongings
We’re not liable for loss or damage to personal property except as required by law. Please use reasonable care and travel insurance.
11) Complaints
If something isn’t right, please speak to the duty manager during your stay so we can put it right. If unresolved, you can write to the General Manager after departure.
12) Governing law
These Terms are governed by England & Wales, with exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
13) Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. The version applicable to your booking is the one in force at the time of booking. Last updated: 29/10/25
